Something else I thought I wanted besides a raccoon

Periodically I get the JJill catalogue. I thought I wanted to buy this jacket. So I tore out the picture and sat down and drew it. Once I was done I realized that I was being suckered in by the atmosphere of the beach. I didn't really want the jacket but wanted the idea of being thin and leisurely strolling down a beach somewhere without having any worries. So just like having a raccoon for a pet would be a very bad idea, I realized that I didn't need this jacket.

Great way to talk yourself out of buying something you really didn't want. Most of society do not search deeply enough to realize all the junk we buy...we're trying make it take the place of what we really want/need. Although blue is my favorite color, great drawing and musings!

I agree. I don't need this jacket either but.....it is really cute. Great source for a sketch.

Great darwing - and a wonderful idea for dealing with "wants." Do you think it would work with food? Could I paint the lemon squares I made instead of eating them??

Now that's a great way to talk yourself out of something - just draw it! Really, how many things do we want and get to find we didn't really want them afterall? Nice drawing.

Nice sketch. And a drawing is a lot cheaper than the jacket!
