Challenge #51 Draw your tv

Well I took a very big step this past week. Last Thursday I had the tv disconnected by the cable company. When I realized I was still getting some fuzzy feed including AMC I sold my big TV on Saturday during my neighbor's garage sale. I put a plant in its place:

I threw away the antenna on my small tv (see drawing above) so I can't watch any programming coming over the airwaves. I also had a small B&W tv in the garage that I gave to a friend on Sunday. I kept the small tv so I can watch dvds. So far this has been fine. I realize I can still see most any show on line if I really, really want to see something or I can wait for the dvd to be released next year. My hope is that I will get more accomplished and not fill my brain with all the odd programming that is out there. I could not watch the news anymore due to the drug ads and the negativity. So we will see how it goes.

My goodness how are you going to keep up with the awful news on CNN lol? Actually I know your reasoning. During the week day my son and I are so busy I don't turn on the tele. TVs can be a brain suck lol. I really like your drawings and how brave of you (and scary for some) to "disconnect."

WOW! Brave.... I am not sure i could throw mine out but I can seem to keep it off...not sure what I am afraid of as I don't watch the news or anything and the only thing I seem intent on getting to in the last number of years is Dancing with the Stars....go figure....

Good for you Leigh! I confess, i would miss mine if I lived alone, but since my husband usually has it tuned to sports or money shows, I really wish sometimes that we didn't have it.

My surgery went well, & I'm feeling pretty good, as long as I take my pain meds and take it easy.

Good for you. I watch the morning shows (supposedly news) with my husband but I'd rather not. Other than that I don't watch TV. It's all a show and they get us so riled. Those ads keep cropping up in blogs I see. No one likes them.

Awesome! My roommates and I decided to throw out our tv's back in college, and I haven't missed it since. I watch DVD's I get through Netflix. You'll love life without tv!
