So long, Farewell

After much thought and soul searching, I have decided that this will be the last post to this blog. I am still doing art but don't want to post right now. If I decide to post again I will start a new blog and will post the link here. I like the idea that the year of drawing that this blog represents is self contained and stands on its own and perhaps inspires others to follow their artistic dreams.
So I leave you with a final piece of art, my ice cream monster, that I did in a class called Imaginary Creatures with Carla Sonheim. He makes me smile and I hope he does the same for you. Thanks to everyone who stopped by this past year and supported me in this journey.

The ice cream monster does make me smile and I wish you continued happiness with creating art. Your blog did inspire me.

Your ice cream monster is delightful! I am so glad that you will be continuing with your art. Your blog and year of drawing has been very inspiring for me and it does make sense to keep it contained, as a complete project. But I will miss your posts! Please make sure we know when you begin a new blog and where to find you :-)

Oh we will miss you...you know we all take time away whether we make a conscious decision to or not. But I hope things go well for you and art continues to bring you satisfaction!

I'll miss your daily posts Leigh, but will be looking forward to seeing where your path takes you next! Ice cream monster is a great note to end on!

I agree, your ice cream monster reminds me of Where the Wild Things Are, too. Love the colors you used! I think it's a great decision to end this blog here. It's fulfilled your goal and it should stand on it's own. I wish you continued success in your art and wherever your path may go. Look forward to seeing what new pieces you come up with. Be well!

Hello Leigh, I just want to say that it's been a great year, and you've been supportive all the while to my blog as well. It's sad that you won't be posting for now, but I am sure everyone understands that there are things you need to attend to at the moment.
So, take your time, do what you have to do, and when you're ready to come back, give us a shout out, and always remember that we'll be here. Thank you Leigh

Hi leigh, I really admire the idea of being able to let go of our blog. I hope you let us know when you start a new chapter.

I just don't comment nearly as much as I'd like, but your last few drawings are really great, like this one.

I'm terrible, not as noble as some of the other commenters, because I'm not good at letting things go. I hate to see good things come to an end. I love this monster and your color choices are fabulous. Do hope to see you around again!

He's a great monster! Are you staying with EDM or going off completely on your own? Of course the groups are always here if you find you don't like it alone out there in the world. Have fun.

You have a accomplished a wonderful achievement in the last year. I really enjoyed reading the newspaper article and looking back through your drawings. I am very slack at leaving comments on blogs, so don't always leave messages.

When I first read your EDM posting I thought you were disappearing completely. But it's good to know you will still be posting irregularly and drawing still

Thanks to everyone who left comments. I tried to reply to everyone but couldn't find emails for some of you. I really appreciate that you took the time to look at the blog and leave such kind words. Best to all of you in your artistic pursuits!

We'll miss seeing your art and reading your blog, but it's very understandable. Blogs really do take time. It's been a real pleasure to get peeks into your world. Thanks and good luck! nancy

My Italian friend Adele says the only food she requires is "Gelato". If I could, I'd make a design for her to wear of your monster. He charms. Wishing you all good things.

I'll miss seeing your work, but I totally understand. Sometimes having the blog puts added pressure on me to create something, which kind of takes all the fun out of it.

This is a wonderful last post. Reminds me of a monster from Where the Wild Things Are.
